Ted Ansani

Ted Ansani the bassist/vocalist for the seminal 1990s power pop group Material Issue. The Chicago-based band released four major label albums while touring extensively.
"Ansani was Material Issue's secret weapon...a master of rhythm and harmony." Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune

As fans of powerpop and Material Issue, we've all been feeling a little empty. Though MI was a showcase for the writing of Jim Ellison, listening to Ted's debut makes us wonder why he wasn't contributing material for the group's three albums on Mercury. 'Hello Miss Once Again' is a pure pop treasure that would have sounded right at home on 'Destination Universe.' Ted has a definite Buddy Holly vibe to his writing, which is most noticeable on 'Someone To Love' and 'Used To Be.' The quirky 'Space Robot' is also one of the funnest songs I've heard in years. Love your pop short and sweet? This one's for you. Here's hoping the next one is longer! - Dan Pavelich

Additional Guitars and Vocals - Jim Steinkraus, Bass - Reuben Baird, Drums - Kevin Baschen and Marty Winer, Guitar and Keyboards - Kerry Finerty

"After sitting on these recordings for quite some time, I've decided to go ahead and make this LP available for those of you who've asked. I honestly hope you all enjoy it."
