The Buttonholes

Listening to The Buttonholes is like that feeling you get when hanging with a great group of friends that you haven’t seen in years. Richly toned tube guitar, textured and traded lead vocals, and tunes you want to sing in the shower the next day. An all embracing sound of “60’s pop mod pub rock”.

The Buttonholes are a band of musicians and songwriters. They are friends who like to drink beer and make music at the same time. They like to tinker with microphones and soundboards until the blurry eyed wee hours of the morning. They are husbands and dads. They are poets who draw and authors that sing. They learn through teaching. They make business and love. They are keepers of cats and students of tone. The Buttonholes are Bryan Coulter, Paul Madison and Bryan Stone. They are guitar, drums and bass. They are rock and roll. They are a glasses clinking over the volume set at 11. They are song driven. You can find The Buttonholes on a random weeknight in a Culver City garage, a Friday night in Hermosa Beach or an afternoon bbq in your backyard.

Because they have to. It is part of who they are. If they stop creating music they will lose a part of themselves. Because some poetry must become song. Because people deserve fresh music. Because of the internet and computers…and Paul’s carpentry skills. Because they like watching people dance. Because some songs are so good they have to listen to them over and over and over again until they can play every note and sing every word. Because they can.
