The Reverend Eddie Danger

Eddie Danger Music is described as “Cosmic Folk with a Tribal Twist of Jazz”.

The Reverend Rabbi Swami Shaman Eddie Danger releases
a "Best Of" collection of 10 years of music he created, recorded, and
produced between the years of 2002 and 2012. It includes songs from 11
different releases by The Reverend Eddie Danger, Dangergrass, Canon Ball, The Feel Good Tribe,
Seafaring Songs, and Edward Stanton Lemar. It also includes Live tracks from the
Feel Good Festival and Feel Good Winter Costume Ball.

Edward Stanton Lemar, known to most as The Reverend Eddie Danger, is an award-winning singer/songwriter, playwright, multi-instrumentalist, wedding officiant, story teller, & festival organizer. He is based in the rolling hills of the Driftless area in Southwest Wisconsin, on a farm along the West Fork of the Kickapoo River. Ed plays the guitar, didgeridoo, piano, pump organ, flute, sax, various percussion, ukulele, and more.

Ed has written plays, musicals, PSA's, theme songs, singing banana-grams, soundtracks for puppet theater, and telephone hold music.
Ed has been traveling the world collecting instruments and sharing his music for almost 2 decades. His music, stories & theatrics are a favorite among music festivals, art fairs, barn dances, college radio and concert series.

Songwriters contest winner KVAMA 2011 & 2012, and Great River Folk Festival 2012.

Reverend Eddie Danger started his career in music as an alto sax
player in the 5th grade. In the 9th grade he was kicked out of the
Jazz band and stopped playing music for about 4 years. At age 18 an
enlightening experience in the parking lot at a Grateful Dead concert
reintroduced Ed’s Love of music and he started frequenting drum
circles. Ed left the Midwest for the next few years traveling around
the world picking up instruments from Cuba, South America, Africa,
Australia, Mexico and the US. At age 20 Ed Joined a World/Rock band
and started his craft in song writing. During this time the “southpaw”
started to teach himself how to play the guitar upside down.

Taking a break from music this time to ride his bike from Canada down
the coast through California. Ed ended up without any money in
Berkeley, California where he got a job starting school gardens. It
was in the Bay area where he began to record music at the California
Recording Institute in San Francisco. The years following lead Ed
north to Alaska where he lived in a tree house and to Portland, Oregon
to pursue music. To pay the bills while living in the Pacific
Northwest Ed worked on a Llama Ranch, drove a school bus, was a
backcountry guide, taught science, edited a book on sexual astrology
and performed music.

Ed moved back to Wisconsin summer 2003 where he
released his first solo Self-titled CD while leading sea kayak trips in the Apostle Islands.
He has been creating & performing music, organic farming, and planning events ever since. To date he has performed 18 wedding ceremonies.

A One-Man Band playing over 25 instruments. The lyrics are word heavy
stories with an underlying message usually about political or
environmental justice, Metaphysical epiphanies or frustrations and
blowing off the suburban teen angst, bad love, & trashy rap star
negative vibe mentality saturating today’s music. Rise Up!

Perfect Love cannot be tainted by jealousy, pettiness, or judgement. Religion can get in the way of getting to know the creator. I'm a fan of unorganized religion. No Harm. We are all one being not apart from God, but a part of God. Meditation is the pathway to Self Realization & Transcendence. I am a Reverend, a Rabbi, a Swami, a Shaman, a Yogi, a Baptist... The Big Rock Studio is located in Rosholt, Wisconsin on Flume Creek (a good trout stream). Dave Krueger runs a nice pro home studio and has some cool vintage instruments. I recorded Welcome to the Feel Good Revolution, Band of Thieves, and Alma in the Stars there.

Snailish Records is owned by Canon Ball/Dangergrass bass-player/sound-engineer Patrick Gonzagowski. Pat ran sound for Feel Good Festival for 4 of 5 years. He started playing upright bass when I hired him to play in Dangergrass. Before that he played electric bass in a metal band. Dangergrass S.T.A.R.S., parts of Canon Ball Seafaring songs, and parts of Canon Balls second album were recorded by Pat in multiple locations throughout Wisconsin. The rest of the Canon Ball songs were recorded at Fiddleosophy Productions.

Fiddleosophy Productions is run by Jeff and Maria Sachs out of their home studio in Arkdale, WI. I recorded the first Dangergrass album and parts of the two Canon Ball albums there.

Dangergrass: A side project that came about when I was double booked at a show with bluegrass/jug-band Sloppy Joe. We played a set together and I started going down to Jeff's to record shortly after. Pat Gonzagowski on bass, Ryan "rocket legs" Haney on banjo, Jme Saegert and Jon Mohr on percussion, Mike White on Telecaster, and Jeff Sachs.

Canon Ball: A 5-piece alt-bluegrass americana band that also played original sea songs and shanties live to puppet theater. Their first show was on Halloween 2009. The band was essentially Dangergrass minus Mike White and with Jme on full drum kit.

Notes: Recorded by Snailish Records in Hancock, WI on an isthmus next
to some sacred indian mounds. This song was a result of the winter
doldrums. Jeff Sachs on Mandolin, Ryan Haney on the C# banjo, Pat

Notes: A juggernaut is defined as, "a terrible, irresistible
disaster". This song is about how religion can sometimes get in the
way of getting to know God.

Funky Punken- Alma in the Stars
Notes: This song was originally recorded on my first album in 2002
and also was released on the Live at Feel Good Festival CD. I wrote
it after watching Life is a House. I was a vegetarian at the time. I
lived next to the guy who owns the tofu company that makes Tofurkey.
That's me on the panpipes. I picked them up in Peru a year earlier
near Machu Pichu.

Lyrics: You made black coffee and you burnt my toast. Tofu sausage
and my eggs were poached.
It ain't too early to drink a beer. I'm lucky sometimes, but I ain't
lucky here.

Red Wine- Welcome to the Feel Good Revolution!
Album Notes: I was not in a happy place when I wrote this. I was
working at a science camp near Fossil, OR. Steve McConnell on backing
Vocals and Jerry Smith on lead guitar (octave pedal). Recorded at The
Big Rock Studio.

I LOVE SUNDRESSES- Live at Feel Good Festival
Notes: I Love Sun Dresses. Galynne Goodwill on bass. Markondrums.
Mike White guitar. This was the anthem for the Feel Good Festival and
the theme song for the Sundress Fun Run, and Ms. Feel Good pageant.

Lyrics: She is the girl with gypsy eyes. Satin for cheeks and a moose
for a smile.
Her hairs made of curls. She has a star for a nose. She says goodbye
when she means hello.
She wears a sundress and the sundresses her, but she'll take it off
because it's what she'd prefer
I Love Sundresses. Dirty feet and a tan. I love sun dresses. Well

Notes: Written for Banjo player Ryan "Rocket Legs" Haney. The
Dangergrass S.T.A.R.S. album featured a picture of Ryan playing banjo
while flying through space. Recorded in Wisconsin Dells by Snailish
Records. We recorded this as Dangergrass, but released it on the
second Canon Ball album. The song is also about his van named Canon
Ball. We named the band after the van. Ed play banjo ukulele, Jme
Saegert on drums, Mike White Guitar, Pat Gonzagowski on bass, Ryan
Haney banjo.

NARWHAL Canon Ball Seafaring Songs
Notes: Scientific name: Mondon Monocerus. This song was released on the Canon Ball album Seafaring Songs. It was a Sea theme concept album. I commissioned a talented puppet make Dr. Bob (Robert Armstrong) to make puppets that went with this seafaring adventure I wrote. He made a Sea Hag, Narwhal, Pirates, Viking, Eel, and Mermaid that all fit in this old treasure chest.

Lyrics: On a fifty foot schooner named Lily Marie. Natural & mystic in the Arctic Sea. Along came a wave that could wash away hope. I'm afraid this wave will soon sink my boat. A great water monster saved the crew and me. I told that horned beast, "I'm in great debt to thee". He said, "my name is the narwhal and great debt indeed and I pray you will go do this task for me. You see I once was a unicorn the mountains my home. Now I'm a great white sausage and these seas I roam".
CHORUS: There was a unicorn who swam in the sea. He had a long long horn and a brat for a body.
Find me my legs and one wish you'll be granted. So away I went to the depths of Atlantis. Deep down below in an eel gaurded cave I found a great treasure, four unicorn legs. I gave to the Narwhal his legs for one wish. And what I have now still smells like fish.

Notes: Recorded live at Feel Good Festival complete with Didgeredoo and scat solo by Ed. Originally recorded on my first concept album, Welcome to the Feel Good Revolution. The story that ties all the songs together is in the original liner notes.

WHY NEED I CARE? Dangergrass Rhapsody in (B)luegrass
Notes: Recorded by Jeff Sachs at Fiddleosophy Productions in Arkdale,
WI. Jeff Sachs: Mandolin. Jeff also played bass on the entire first
Dangergrass album on top of fiddle, cello, viola, banjo, mandolin,
dobro, and ukelele. He has always been one of my biggest musical
inspirations. His to-be wife, Maria, would end up playing bass and
singing back-up vocals on my folk album released years later. I officiated Jeff and Maria's wedding and they birthed their daughter in my house.

Lyrics: There's a lot of life on the forest floor of the forest. And if you look to the sky and you gaze at the stars before us. The light you see could just be and atom and the protons and the neutrons are just planets. Spinning round at super speed in a chorus. Sunny days, partly cloudy, feel its rays, rock me steady, rocking chair, smooth and easy, smell the air, sweet and breezy. Some days I crackle like the fire. Or fluid like the flowing ways of water. Steady like the earth unmoved,the Terra. I can't be seen yet I can rage the air. The earth is 78% water, my cup is 42% full. The world is filled with many angry people. So now it's time to empty out the bowl. Somedays I am much like a Lion. I'll wake up late and lie around in my room. Other days I'm more like a dragon. With eyes of green and dragon wings imagine. Sometimes life moves rather quickly. Other times it moves pretty slow. I guess it's just a matter of perspective. Future past, Future present as a whole.

TRAVELIN- Self Titled Album
Notes: Eleventy-one is a reference to the Hobbit. I wrote this song in Madison, WI. I was living in Trout Lake, Washington at the time.

Lyrics: Snow is falling under street lamp light. The roads are slippery so we'll drive all night. Pull of at exit eleventy-one. That will take us to that son of a gun. I've got my backpack and my walking shoes. My Harley t-shirt and my fading tattoos. I live like a turtle with my house on my side. The sun on my face and the wind as my guide. We're on empty and we're running on hope. So we fill up on Jameson from a cowboy boot. oh. I've been traveling, oh. I've been travelin.
The motor city is just ahead on the kingbird highway glowing big apple red. The city of angels and the lonestar state. We're driving all the way to the pearly (golden) gates. The city of roses, and the city of sin. The burning black hills and city of wind. I keep driving cause I can't win. I can't stop because I didn't begin. I've been traveling for oh so long. Through humid nights and through thunder storms. North of the border and way down south.. Out of order to the rivers mouth. I've been travelin through Kentucky hill, The Ozark mountains, and cactus quills. Should I go westward, well I think I will. and I won't go home till I get my fill.

MOTHS & RUST- Edward Stanton Lemar
Notes: This little ditty is all about the flowering of human
consciousness. It was heavily influenced by Eckhart Tolle's books. I
was also experimenting with a new method of song writing where I would
go into deep meditation and start writing as I drifted back into the
real world with a pen ready-in-hand. Jeff Sachs on Tenor Banjo, Maria Sachs on bass & vox.

Notes: After 34 years of my life I sucked it up and got a real job.
The first song I wrote was a year later and the first words were, "I
work too much". The job didn't last and I'm back at music again.
Maria Grana on bass and vocals. Fiddleosophy Productions. This song
won multiple songwriting contests and was featured on Wisconsin Public
Radio's show Simply Folk in September 2012.

FAIR ANGEL- Self Titled Album
Notes: The back of my first album is a picture of Cher's old tour bus.
The picture on the front is of me on a boat that I lived on in
Seattle for a while after I did a bicycle tour pulling my sea kayak on
a trailer through Canada. The first track is a recording of the
moving walk way at O'Hare airport. I got a new mini-disc recorder and
was testing it out. The song Fair Angel is about me and my wife to
be, Angela, getting ready to move back to the midwest after being on
the west coast for 6 years. I recorded it in a small cabin at the
base of Mt. Adams.

Lyrics: It's the end of the road. I know, won't you come with me? We can trust our nose and let it go until a shady spot we'll see. And we will lie there together making love you and me. Under the stars, Above the Earth, below the flowers of an apple tree. That's what we get when we're together you and me.
I want to know who told you that life was ever fair? Fair Angel, please help me cause no one else seems to care. I'm sad real sorry that things didn't go your way. I gave up I tried next time lets stay in bed all day. Let's stay in bed all day. Lets stay in bed all day. There's a corner in my eye where you are huddled watching me. It tickles so much it hurts, but your not hurting me. My hands are in my pockets cause they have no place else to be. Your scared, I'm frightened of this stupid little thing.

NEENAH MENASHA- Dangergrass, Rhapsody in (B)luegrass
Notes: This song is all about weed and it's major influence in my
music. Jon Mohr came out of musical retirement from Burnt Toast and
Jam to be the first Dangergarss percussionist. The first Dangergrass
show was an accident that evolved from a double booking with Ed and
bluegrass band Sloppy Joe. They did the set together and starting a
lasting friendship. John Mohr; percussion, Jeff Sachs on bass, Nathan
Sitzman on mandolin, and Colin O'brien on banjo and stomp board.
