This I Heard

Born in Cincinnati, raised in the Detroit area, Jacqueline's mother had her playing the piano at 4. At 5 she learned her first harmony to Where Have All The Flowers Gone with Mrs. Martin at Southfield #10 elementary. A freedom-loving child, music helped her to soothe and express herself. She played several instruments before becoming entranced by live theatre and eloquent words. Studying at the nearby community theatre, she then got "serious" and went to acting school in Chicago. After four seasons with the Guthrie theatre in Minneapolis, she went to Los Angeles -- where she started acting in films and television. A few years into it, she realized how many crafts were involved that she wanted to help with. Directing and writing came into play and the studying of the amazing medium of film. She's a great admirer of filmmakers like Satyajit Ray or Amenabar, who wrote/ write the scores of their own films. Recently, she holed up at a friend's farm for two months in Northern Minnesota and returned to the many strains and threads of music she recorded over the years. This EP is a result -- of the songs -- there will be wordless melodies to come. She has great gratitude to her mother for pushing her into music and practice all those years, and to her sisters, whose musicality, both in the playing of their own instruments and the music of others, has helped shape her aural landscape.
