Tori Fixx

Tori Fixx began with a extreme love for music. He had a knack for hearing things within the music that other people ceased to pick up on. This lead to his amateur attempts at editing songs to repeat his favorite parts, or change up song structures to his liking all on a "double-cassette deck". Needless to say his passion for remixing had begun.

Being from a poor family, back in the 80's, T. Fixx did not have access to the technology of today's youth, so his journey into the world of music was a slow and challenging one. It was his passion for music and belief in a dream, as far fetched as it seemed, that propelled the momentum in his drive. The school of hard knocks became his teacher, as he stumbled over failed attempt after failed attempt to achieve his dream. Fixx eventually worked his way into a few recording studios from Minneapolis to California. Learning the world of music production as best he could, and working with numerous artists that would never see the light of day. When he ran out of artists to produce, he used his own voice (for better or worse) to continue to create and develop his craft.

A few years into this practice a friend stumbled upon some T. Fixx demos and convince the producer to share them with the world. An apprehensive Fixx eventually heeded the friends advice and began releasing his collections to any ear willing. He was well aware that his work was rough around all edges, but he knew he had something worth saying, and sharing. What you hear from the very first "official" Tori Fixx solo record (Mochasutra) through the decade beyond, is the development and growth of an artist, as well as man simply trying to find his place in the world. The off notes eventually become the right notes. The passive kid grows to become a confident leader of a musical movement. Note by note.

At the end of the day, Fixx is well aware that he's "not perfect by any means," but with every song, remix and production he gets one step closer to it. One could sum up his catalogue as "T. Fixx throws one funky party. It may not be for everyone, but everyone is certainly invited. Just be open to difference and the occasional mistake. Live and let live."
