Uncut Stones

After a strong release of their first full length CD 'We Will Rise Up'. Uncut Stones continues to push the boundaries of secular and Christian music. By incorporating both styles of music into their sets. By doing so, with reckless abandon, they have broadened their popularity of both the Christian and non Christian fans wherever they play.
When Uncut Stones decided to record their album, they contacted some friends to play on the album. The biggest name on the album is Will McFarlane. Will McFarlane was the rhythm guitarist for Bonnie Raitt for many years and has shared the stage with many blues greats including the late B.B.King. He is currently part of the famed muscle shoals all start band. You can hear Will McFarlane adding slide guitar and ever so nice tasteful licks throughout the song 'Lay My Burden Down'.
The band gets it sound from styles of music like Lincoln Brewster, Gungor, and Celtic music. By blending rock, folk and gospel into their sound, it becomes a collision of fantastic proportions. Although they are considered a Christian Progressive Rock Band, they are so much more. As they are able to bridge the gap between Christian and non Christian audiences with ease.
Their songs are a collection of the guitarist (Dan Browning) life's work thus far. All of the songs were written by him except for 'Lay My Burden Down' & 'Amazing Grace' which are both old hymns that have new arrangements by the band.
Musically, Uncut Stones has a polished sound and a big stage presence. On songs like 'We Will Rise Up' their live show has guitar, bass and drum solos along with a beautifully arranged instrumental in the song that is a must see live. They deliver deep and uplifting songs such as in 'It's Time'. 'It's Time' was written about the human trafficking that goes on in the world and how we need to take action against it. One of the most refreshing arrangements of Amazing Grace can be found on this album. It has a beautiful balance of old tradition hymn style of feel, while still adding a rock and Celtic touch that is a trademark of this band.
