Big Time Rosie

Big Time Rosie was a 5-piece rock band from Portland, OR that was a Northwest staple from about 1996 to their dissolution in 2001. With their start at Whitman College in Walla Walla, WA, BTR evolved from a mediocre basement band to one of the Rose City's favorite local live acts.

Memorable hooks, 4 part harmonies and the band's passionate live performances were complimented by a stylistic diversity that ranged from funk and folk to country and straight ahead pop rock. The band played mostly up and down the I-5 corridor from Bellingham to Roseburg, amassed 2 Western U.S. tours and a ton of friends and fans along the way.

BTR had two records to their name-a self titled EP release in 1998 and a live acoustic album called Acoustic Playground, recorded at Portland's Buffalo Gap in 2000. They also released a limited edition underground album entitled Slight Tilt, which was release at their first reunion show in 2002.

While the band is scattered up and down the West Coast, they get together to rekindle the magic every few years. Several of them still pursue their musical endeavors - and - it doesn't hurt to sit back and reminisce about the days when come Friday night you packed up and headed out to the BTR show...
