Album Notes
"You know, I was originally going to write a behind the scenes story of the life of a stripper to paint a realistic picture of many stripper’s lives that go untold. However, I was working out in my apt. last summer while previewing a producer’s online beat catalogue, and I just started flowing over this wicked trap beat and I took a break to jot down two lines. The story goes that I didn’t finish my workout that day, because the lyrics just kept flowing so organically…and hence Stripper Pole was birthed!

Stripper Pole is all about celebrating the professional female dancer. It’s a fun, sexy and energetic party track, but at the same time it’s classy. For the dancers out there who practice their routines daily and train on a stripper pole; that’s not easy! Not everyone can just go out there and perform at that level, so it’s praising these women as “professionals” and “bosses” of these entertainment clubs as they control the cash flow; without beautiful and talented professional dancers, these clubs would not be able to draw in packed crowds.

In addition, the dancers also control the music being played; if they decide they want to dance to a particular track, the DJ is going to comply 99% of the time!

Stripper Pole also lets it be known that they are not “hoes” but yet Queens on their “throne” and “consummate professionals.” The song also makes it known that many “strippers” are pursuing financial goals such as paying for their college tuition, so Stripper Pole is just a unique song! I would say it’s also different because I am merging my descriptive New York lyricism over a club-thumping Atlanta trap style beat, which is something you just don’t hear every day. Having lived in metro Atlanta for the past 5 years has really helped develop my current sound."
