Album Notes
54 Seconds' music is at once ambient, melancholic, large, characterized by unexpected chord progressions and strange, catchy hooks. The band is spacious-almost experimental, but disturbingly accessible, with unusual harmonies floating above lush, vintage keyboards and the elegant guitar and voice of Spencer Gibb. Combining the best elements of electronica, pop and classic rock, 54 Seconds is late night headphone music at its best.

Demian Panello (from Buenos Aires, Argentina).

Great music!. Amazing sound!. Now, Argentina knows 54 seconds.

Very surprised didn't expect to like it as much as I did.
Promography gets better with each listening. I like the raw done it ourself kinda feel. Child In Your Eyes is just stuck in my head. The emotion of this CD really gets me this could be a GREAT CLASSIC!

Mary Vance

As always great job. The additional songs are a wonderful mix with the songs off the ep album. I like the fact that some of the songs from ep have a better beat to them.

Julie Martin

A beautifully enhanced collection of addictive material!
The new clarity and balance on this release, adds that welcomed extra sparkle to already slick performances from each musician onboard - including guest artists Brian Standefer (cello) in the moody rarity that is Plastic Love, and Sara Nelson (cello) in the emotional Nothing but a Child. The atmosphere that is created in the introduction of Waiting Around is other-worldly - silky slide guitar, intervals of slow caressing guitar strums, chucky steel-city percussion, with the chorus seeing an injection of seductively spooky Theremin solos.
Amoung others, you also get the sinister Nashville (previously on an alternate early release of EP), Skin (dripping with knee-weakening harmonies), a beautiful live version of Poppy seed, and the cool new arrangement of World Stood Still. Most importantly though, we finally we get all these wonderful songs on one CD!!

Songs of substance
Initially recorded to impress the "men in nice suits" of record companies, the songs on Promography have been mastered with such precision that even a listener who is not a fan will fall in love with the beauty and richness of these songs. I am sure that once 54seconds gets the record deal they so richly deserve, crowds will line up in anticipation of their new release.

The Second Time Around
Promography is an amazing collection of songs. Most of the songs were taken from the earlier promotional cds, Promo and Promo 2. There are 4 bonus tracks, one of which is a previously unreleased 54 Seconds song. Beautifully remastered, the sound is rich, full and very precise. As soon as the cd started, I could hear that there was a lot of care put into the remastering of these songs. Hearing songs that you know and love and hearing them sound this great is one of the best things for a music lover! EVER! It was a given to get mine as soon as possible. Sheer bliss from the moment it started playing. I have been listening and trying to come up with what's so different. It's so hard to put into words, as every time I listen to these songs, my mind wanders and I become lost in the feeling of the many moods their music evokes. So I just stop trying. Almost. This remaster is very enjoyable. It definitely enhances the many effects of the layers and layers of music. And so clear! I nearly fell out of my chair when the intro to "Strange Day" started. The songs have always been wonderful, but as you listen to this cd, you can hear just how beautiful this all was in the beginning. When they recorded them. Not every one has me waxing nostalgic. But most of them do...
The vocals are phenomenal and can you can hear words you couldn't understand before. Sorry Spencer, the jig is up.
The guitar effects and solos will blow you away like a secret weapon. The lush, soaring keyboards will lift you up higher than you've ever been before. The basslines will get you in the pit of your stomach. And the drums will feel like they're right in the room with you.
There are harmonies between instrument and voice that I heard for the first time. When you love a good song, nothing is better than a well done remaster! Outstanding!!
If you are just discovering this band, you're in for a treat. As a long time fan, I highly recommend this cd.
