Album Notes
6000 Red - I wanna be like you

"I want to see life thru someone else eyes" invites you into the pulsing electronic world of 6000 Red. The two piece outfit consists of Seanne Chamberlain (vocals, bass guitar) and Geoff Baker (laptop and synths). They fuse elements of classic songwriting with pumping, grinding electro basslines and soaring vocals.

The EP
(with 6 songs and 2 videos) was produced by Matthew de la Hunty (ex-Tall Tales and True) and Laurie Sinagra (engineered Burton Cool Suit, Soda Stream, Jebidiah). The videos were directed by Jeremy Passmore of Spooky Doll productions.

the Band
6000 Red formed in 2006, and quickly built themselves a distinctive niche in the Perth music scene. In their short career they have had two songs featured on the 2007 WAM cd (West Australian music), and have had their "Seems to be" video aired on ABC's Rage. They recently signed to Undercover Tracks, the California based sync and soundtrack outfit that specialises in breaking Australian music in Hollywood.

the Songs
Returning songwriting to electronic music, 6000 Red cuts thru the narrow genres that clutter dance music. "I wanna be like you" is a song about the insensitive prick that we all wished we could be. The classic synth shuffle bass builds thru the song as the lyrics paint a world where we don’t have a conscience. Then "September" slips into bass driven funk, jammed with vocal hooks and retro-disco beats. "Hazy world" is one song, done twice, each radically different. One is slow, mournful and introspective, the other a frenetic breakbeat. But both shiver with the same sense of a relationship in breakdown. "Seems to be" starts with a distended, disjointed soundscape that swells into a glitchy epic of crunching rhythms and ethereal vocals. "Wake up" layers voice upon voice, sliding between spoken word restraint to an angst bearing climax.

the Future
6000 Red will be releasing a full length CD early in 2008.

A little bit of intelligent Thumpa Thumpa!!!!
A solid soundscape to assualt the senses, the stuff all great electro is made of!!!! In these days of generic disco it is great to find an album that is mercilessly magical and not just monotonously mundane-but it you know you wasnt too!!!!!!!
