I began writing when i was 9. the stories i wrote helped me express myself. life at home was pretty rough, and the rhymes in my journals became my escape.
When I was 15, a couple of my friends and i wrote a song called "Gucci Belt" and released it on soundcloud. It was mixed by kids who didn't know how to mix, and recorded by a kid who didn't know how to rap. I was the kid who rapped. It became a small hit around my neighborhood. This was the unofficial start of my career.
A year later i started high school. The first week of class I walked into biology and noticed a new kid sitting near my desk. He had a long pony tail. He wore these crazy neon-colored clothes. I asked him about his Liverpool jersey. I didn't know it at the time, but I was talking to my best friend. my brother. that was the day I met Archie Erskine.
When Archie moved back to England, he met Nak, and we formed Toast Gang. the first time I heard Nak sing was in an early recording of Take Time. I remember playing it over and over on a plane ride to Omaha, knowing that we had something special. But all good things must come to an end.
Over the past three years i have been able to travel around the world for music. I have seen places i would've never seen. I have met people I would've never met. music has saved my life. I am blessed to be on this journey. Wherever it takes us. Whenever it ends.
Always,
