ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
As seen on CBC & MUCHMUSIC, A Fish Called Piranha has performed in over 100 venues around the world from 10 people in a coffee shop to 2000 people in the Philippines to 10,000 screaming fans at Tomfest, Portland, OR. 'AFCP' has recorded with producer-extraordinaires such as Mike Plotnikoff (KISS, Cranberries), John MacLean (Limblifter), John Shepp (GOB, Matthew Good), and Sam Ryan (Destino, Krome). Most recently, A Fish Called Piranha recorded most of the album masterpiece, “The Year Of The Fish”, holed up in the studio for more than a year. Guest artists included Shawn Meehan (Krome), Eric Davis (The Left) and celebrity sushi chef himself, Tojo Hidekazu. Co-produced by Sam Ryan (Destino, Krome), “The Fish”, will be released in the fall of 2010 with incredible artwork by John Rummen (Barenaked Ladies, Sarah McLachlan) of Nettwerk Records and Kwong's signature hidden acronyms & anagrams in his Kurt Cobain-esque lyrics (SEE BELOW... For example, in the song, 'PAYDAY', the 1st letter of each line at the end of the song spells, 'TRUMP', as in 'Donald Trump'. In the song, 'ROME', the 1st letter of each line at the end of the song spells, 'CAESAR', as in Julius Caesar).

“PAYDAY”

Feed the lions to the Christians.
Give Alaska to Canadians.
Fix the O in the Zone in the heavens.
Show the atheists something to believe in.

I'll help the poor to spend all of your millions.
I'll dim the glitter from all of your diamonds
Because all the love I gave,
You spent it all away.

Today is payday.
I just got paid.
It's payday.
I'll spend to save.
It's payday.
It's Remembrance Day.
It's payback time.
And it's your time to pay (hey)!

Let the Black Widow taste her own sting.
See the blind see. Hear the mute sing.
Right is left. East is west. Out is in.
North is south. End is start. The last will win.

BRIDGE

CHORUS

My investment in you is now running out.
No more savings are left in your bank account.
You're a stock that fell down.
I'm selling you today.
Every dividend I claim, I'm entitled to.
I will get back my pride and your pension, too.
It's repayment time. It's redemption day.
Let's celebrate!

CHORUS

Today is payday. I just got paid. It's payday. I'll spend to save. It's payday. It's
Remembrance Day. It's payback time
Until it's
Mine today.
Payday.

“ROME”

I spent my life wrapped close to you.
All the angels wept as you cut me loose.

All your roads don't lead to home, Rome.
All your roads don't lead to home, Rome.
All your roads don't lead to home, Rome.
All your roads don't lead to home, Rome.

I dig a hole in my own hand
To be with you. So, don't you leave again.

CHORUS

Cause you're a dragon. You're a demon. You're a snake.
A wolf in disguise. You're a riot. You're a sinner. And you're a fake. Like
Every pig here knows how to fly. And I
Say, “Rome wasn't built in a day. And empires rise & fall.”
All your roads don't lead to home,
Rome.
