Hurricane Rising

by Ant Noel

Rootsy and upbeat, a melting-pot of country, big band and celtic-flavoured folk rock which recalls and updates the classic sound of The Band and 'Bright Side of the Road'-era Van Morrison, utterly charming!

Album Notes
Born and raised in the British Channel Island of Jersey, then relocating to Bristol, England, Ant Noel has created a debut album of charming, witty and varied folk-rock. Drawing on the inspiration of remote island-based life and the romantic notion of moving to find an audience in the big city, Hurricane Rising reflects on the virtues of having everything at your feet whilst remaning nostalgic for the life left behind. The album is dynamic and rootsy, from Steve Earle-like country ballads to big band-infused Springsteen-esque up-tempo rock with the sound of guitars, mandolin, banjo, accordion, strings, brass, piano and the kitchen sink hitting the mark on every step of the way. This is an invigorating tale of the artist's search for bigger and better things!
