ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
An incredible doo-wop arrangement of the classic Christmas song originally recorded by Beach Boys. Chris Farmer, the former musical director for the Beach Boys Touring band, sings all of the parts on this Holiday classic.

Chris Farmer's musical career is rich with big name acts. A bass player, guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist, Farmer is currently performing with numerous headliner artists, including Timothy B. Schmit of the supergroup the Eagles in support of Timothy's latest CD "Expando." He was the bass player and vocalist for the legendary Beach Boys for twelve years and was musical director and vocal arranger for his last seven years with America's Band. Skilled at singing tight, complex vocal harmonies, over his tenure with The Beach Boys he was asked to sing every part in their vocal stack - the leads, falsetto, bass, and middle harmony parts.
In the 90's, he was the musical director, bassist and vocalist for groups such as Jan & Dean, Good Vibrations - a tribute to The Beach Boys, and Rhino recording artists The Belair Bandits. Although a multi-instrumentalist, Farmer's voice is his main instrument. Chris is a classically trained vocalist who, early in his career, appeared on stage in musical theater and opera. He was the featured vocalist in the acapella quartet "Double Date" that performed regularly at Universal Studios Hollywood. He also has vocal credits on a number of TV and film projects, including "Bay Watch Nights" and "The New Gidget".
During the 1980's, his projects included musical director/bassist/vocalist for Warner Bros. recording artist Jack Wagner, helping propel his hit recording "All I Need" to the number 2 spot on the Billboard charts. Other 80's gigs included music supervisor and bassist for the "Legends of Doo-Wop" and "Cavalcade of Stars" shows, playing behind such greats as Sam Moore of Sam and Dave, David Ruffin of the Temptations, The Drifters, The Diamonds, Al Wilson, Brenton Wood, The Flamingos, and many others of 50's and 60's era.
TV appearances over the years have included the daytime drama "General Hospital", being part of the first TV show to feature a rock band, and the very successful "Full House", featuring John Stamos. Recently, Chris made an appearance on the TV show "ER" as a band member in John Stamos' character "Dr. Gates" band.

In 2008, Chris released his first full length CD, "California Dreamin'" to rave reviews. The release has up to date renditions of The Beach Boys, Beatles, Momas & Papas and other popular sixties classics performed by Chris and his former Beach Boys bandmates. The original song, "California Sleepwalking" is a standout track on the CD and available on Amazon.com A year later, Chris released two patriotic versions, including a Doo-Wop arrangement, of "The Star Spangled Banner."
