Album Notes
David Detweiler, originally from Houston, TX, has performed extensively across the United States and Europe. While living in New York City, he performed at many premier live music venues such as The Blue Note, Birdland, The Knitting Factory, Windows on the World, and Lincoln Center. He has also been a guest soloist with the United States Coast Guard Band. D
David has been a featured performer on B.E.T. on Jazz and the Austin Music Network with the swing band Jet Set Six and has performed on the soundtrack of the television show Blue’s Clues. He has also been featured on the following recordings: David Detweiler-New York Stories (2009) Jet Set Six: Life in the Jet Age (2001), Jet Set Six: Livin’ it Up (1998), Eddy Hobizal: What Is (1996), and Universal Joint: Deepnin’ (1996).

David is pleased to annouce the release of his new CD, New York Stories, his first as a leader. This release contains all original material and features some of the most outstanding musicians in the country. The drum and bass chairs are held down by veteran musicians Leon Anderson, Jr. and Clarence Seay respectively. Leon has played wih such notable musicians as Ellis Marsalis and Victor Goines while Clarence has played with Billy Harper, Wynton Marsalis and Wallace Roney. Up and coming musicians Rick Lollar (guitar) and Chris Pattishall (piano) round out the group.
