Album Notes
Dejah grew up in a small town of 40 people on the Rogue River in rural Oregon. When she was 21, Dejah Leger took a road trip down the west coast with her Irish band, stopping for the night near Gold Beach, Oregon, where the Rogue River empties into the sea. There she saw the destitute remains of the historical ship Mary D Hume, sagging in the tidal mud near its namesake museum, and learned about the tragic and bewildering history of the Northwest's longest-serving vessel. She wrote this song that night at camp. 8 years later she has revisited this often-requested song for a tugboat compilation CD due for release later this year. Joining her is well-known Quebecois fiddler Devon Leger.
