ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
No two songs on this album sound alike!

The album starts with "I Am," a rockin' blues number reminiscent of Janis Joplin, but without the drugs, that celebrates all the wonderful things about people and informs the listener that all this greatness is within them as well.

Next up, "We Are Holy" reminds us that we are infused with divinity, even in our darkest hour. This song is suitable for inclusion in a service where a rock band is part of the regular order of service!

"Forgiveness" is a stirring reminder of how easy it is for people to hurt one another, and that it is our responsibility to look for, and take, the high road.

"Your Holy Presence" is a goose-bump-evoking, jazzy number that looks at different types of people and situations in which you can see the light and love of the divine.

Imagine a song that incorporates Jesus, Buddha and Sai Baba having coffee, New Orleans, Otis Redding, and the Mississippi River in an acapella gospel number. That's "Deepy Ecumenical (As I Recall)."

A mellow, light jazz reminder that there's no need to wait for the end of your life to go to heaven, "Today" reminds us that there's no time like the present to be the change you wish to see in the world.

Want to smile when you're feeling down? Crank up "Thank You God For Everything," look around you, and check out the beauty that is everywhere and in everything!

If any of these songs could be described as sounding a little bit country, it would be"The Choice." It reminds us that we always have a choice regarding how we respond to everything that happens to and around us. Are you going to let hardships bring you down? Or, are you going to look inside yourself and take the high road? The choice is up to you!

"Do You Believe" also asks you to consider your choices every day. Do you believe in yourself enough to choose joy over sorrow, love over hate, or even heaven or hell?

The tight harmonies of "There's A Light," accompanied only by a driving percussion, tells us that there are many wonderful things to be found at the end of the proverbial tunnel.

"United" is a fun, rock and roll reminder that every member of humanity is part of one great, worldwide family.

"How Beautiful" is a hauntingly beautiful reminder that everyone, everywhere is in search of the same thing...a feeling of wholeness of spirit.

One Love...One Heart... One Power....One Peace...One World....

Spirit through Music,
Denise Sherman
