Album Notes
A contemporary acoustic duo, The Douglas Firs’ love of nature is reflected in their songwriting. Their arrangements are untainted and uncomplicated with the focus never straying from their simple yet strong melodies and thought provoking lyrics. This collection includes their first two EPs, 'Happy Being Lost' and 'Walk Tall Past Talking Walls' along with their new single 'In Trouble With Myself'.

Since the successful launch of the second EP, Suzy and Jimmy Douglas have been playing to audiences further afield, including opening the Eastleigh Music Festival for Eddi Reader. They have also supported established folk acts including Megson, Rosie Doonan, The Demon Barbers and Marcie & Damien Howard, as well as winning the Dorset Unsigned Music Awards 2009. They are currently in the studio recording their debut mini-album which is set for release in early 2010, ahead of an overseas tour later in the year...

The lush and melancholy new single 'In Trouble With Myself' was recorded by BRIT award-winning producer Steve Smith at Room With A View Studios in November 2009.

"These songs illustrate the duo's ability to write remarkably original and inventive songs. The performances are modest and understated - as is the Firs' ethos - yet always deeply powerful and emotive." Paul Burke, Purbeck Folk Festival and Bournemouth Folk Club Director

"Simply beautiful songs." Sally Taylor, BBC Radio Solent
