ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is the 20th Anniversary of this genre busting album by Dub Squad. 'Tonic of the People' (the bands second album) features several songs from the 20th Century Fox motion picture "Hear no Evil". Fox licensed a total of 5 songs from the album for the movie. Three songs made it into the movie soundtrack: 'Don't Cry Shinobu', 'The Island' and 'Free'. The band is also featured performing these tracks in the film. Dub Squad was a regional favorite performing ensemble in the Pacific Northwest between 1988 and 1996. During that time they toured with and / or opened for artists like UB40, Ziggy Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Third World and many others. They also were invited to tour Japan as part of the Worlds Fair Expo '90. With the release of 'Hear No Evil', the band received international exposure. This record showcases this unique ensemble at the peak of their popularity.
