ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Borderlands of Hell is a collection of stories about my life and times. I am a storyteller, so I neither tell stories in a straight line, or do I always tell the actual truth or give the actual facts, but the truth is there for certain. Nothing may actually have occurred as told, but you can be sure that something happened to spark the telling of the story. The truth of it is that I write songs so I can have licence to lie and I love lying. It's just that songwriting is one of the few acceptable forums where I can get by with it. Enjoy the stories.

Rock You Up
Hey this is Rockabilly/Americana and the music I love the most! Just tell it like it is: I want to rock you up. There's been speculation if I meant knock or rock. Just let it mean what you want, but dance your damned ass off, guys.

Be Bop Queen
This is for all those little cuties who just make guy's hearts catch for a beat. This song is for all the girls who give us guys a chance.

Rockabilly Baby
Sweet love and sweet, sweet dances with the girl of your dreams. Good times and a life that lives for the music.

Livin' Down the Memory of You
A bad break up for one; a sweet memory for the other. One just trying to hold it together; the other just clueless.

Powder Blue Caddy
Hot girls in hot cars! Car Radio AM Rock ‘N' Roll is all about fast cars, hot girls, and life on the edge.

No Good Man
First off, this song is not about me. It's about another songwriter who could destroy a relationship faster than he could chug a can of Coors. Kind of like a destruction derby when it came to really nice, sweet girls.

Dancefloor of Time
We all dance on it. We all try to hold the feeling. We all hope it'll last just a little longer than it does. We're lucky just to have a dance at all, and if we are really lucky we get to have a few memories.

Borderlands of Hell
This is for all the kats out there that ride hard. You know who you are. You belong to outlaw clubs, to no clubs, Your lives are judged by the ride and what you did on it. There may be no end to your bad intentions, but they are what you have—just wear them well. We may not have heard the stories you could tell, but we've read about them in the newspaper.

Hot Rodder's Paradise
This is a true story about a true place and a true moment in time. I'm asked: "What were the flags the girls dropped? Bras, Panties, T-shirts?" Just keep guessing. AND a special thanks to Jim Romain for the glasspacks on his '40 Ford for the sound effects!

Glory Hallelujah
Well, this one is just fun! I get hoots and hollars when I sing it. A Special thanks to Steve Seskin and a songwriter's seminar he put on in Richmond for it's flow. I introduce it by saying that it is traditional to sing a gospel song somewhere during a country singer's set. This is as gospel as it gets!

Wreck on the Highway
Honky-Tonk! Bad memories of raunchy women and skanky booze—nothin' more to say on the subject! Maybe that was the other way around...

Joe in the Deuce
Not a true song but true nonetheless. I did it all, they did it all, and probably so did you. It takes place in Northern Sonoma County where I now live, but it could have taken place in Placer County where some might say it actually happened.

She's the One
I'm not too old to like girls, or to remember what is was like when I realized that the girl I was dancing with was in fact, THE ONE! I hope you can remember as well, and if not I hope you you have a chance at the memory.

Pink Attack
WOW!!! Just pink. And, they are still out there—girls who live by the color. They may blow your mind and ruin your eyes, but they certainly do get your attention, and it's really kool if you
happen to have one in your life.
