Album Notes
I wrote this song in the fall of 2009, and sang it for Michigan audiences over the next few months. Each time refining and changing up the lyrics, until I had it in its final form. Recorded professionally in the spring of 2010. This song doesn't take sides. We're all in this recession together. As the song says:

Now, stick your right hand in the air, put the left hand up above
There you have the outline of the state we dearly love
But it takes BOTH hands to make that work, and I'll give you all a clue:
Put left and right together, there ain't nothin' we can't do.

All to the thump of a Merle Travis style guitar (guitar was made in Michigan, by the way) with a little talking-blues style and there you have it.
