Album Notes
Please stay awhile and listen to the relaxing and smooth sounds of this new artist.

Larry has been playing the trumpet/flugelhorn for over 30 years. He studied music performance at the University of Denver and University of Colorado at Denver. He has played professionally with local Denver bands for over 20 years. These groups’ styles range from classical to jazz and blues. He currently plays with BluJazz which specializes in Dixieland jazz.

Footprints in Paradise is the culmination of his dream of creating a smooth jazz CD that features his writing talents. He has incorporated smooth jazz with Latin and other modern rhythms in a unique blend of beats and harmonies. It is his hope that the relaxing tracks transport you to a Sanctuary of good feelings and relaxation.

Footprints in Paradise
I'm a Fine Art Photographer and find my creative process is greatly enhanced while working in my studio if I have music that relaxes me. Larry hit it right on with album! My mind wanders through wonderful places as I listen and work.

This music has become a staple in my art studio. I enjoy finding music that inspires me while I work. It not only inspires me, it creates an atmosphere that is so relaxing and enjoyable to be in. I’ve had clients comment on the music ....I’m quick to give them the information to order ! This is like a vacation for the senses...who couldn’t use a vacation everyday ?

I have been deeply blessed by Larry's music for a number of years and especially now with his new cd. Just this past week or so there have been some stressful times in my life and I have deliberately sought Larry's music for some "Sanctuary" and Larry has deliverd every time. The music has calmed my soul and reenergized my life. I pray that Larry's gift and passion for music will bless your life also. Thanks Larry.

Just listen, feel the heart of this musician. Each lick seems to say, "This is what is in my heart, feel it too." His flugel horn impresses me with its subtle and sublime sound, relaxing me and taking me on a journey, one that I seek when I need respite and care from life's daily grind. It will bring you back to the sounds of Chuck M. Judging from his own journey in the rat race (read his bio!) he knows us all too well. I strongly recommend that you give this artist his chance to escape, as I did, when I listened to the sounds of his call to relax, uncoil, and be at peace with the world. The sound beckons us to be in a different place - if only we could escape to Larry's world too.

I am really enjoying this album, particularly the title song. Perfect for relaxing at the end of a hectic day, takes me back to wonderful memories of warm beaches and tropical breezes....Talented artist!

Sandy Shore Review
Trumpeter/flugelhorn player Larry Lagerberg is the perfect example of someone not letting the fire dampen. This Colorado jazz musician put his musical ambitions on hold for a few years while developing a career in finance. You may think it odd after attending college for music studies, but Larry banked his dream for certain stability. We couldn’t be more delighted that the music in his head wouldn’t stay silenced forever… Larry debuts with one of the most classy and elegant jazz albums we’ve heard in a long while. FOOTPRINTS IN PARADISE is really lovely and ideal for relaxing, unwinding, dreaming, dinner partying, etc. One of his influences is Michael Franks and honestly, the subtlety of Larry’s music is definitely along the lines of the sensual jazz vocalist. This mostly instrumental project is refined and tranquil; cinematic if you will. The first song, “Sanctuary,” is a beautiful, moody piece that may spark your imagination of being in a huge, Gothic cathedral. Another favorite is the breezy title track, “Footprints in Paradise” which is reminiscent of the work of Chuck Mangione (think: CHASE THE CLOUDS AWAY). Also, the Latin “Southern Exposure” offers a Metheny-esque vocalizing / Brazilian vibe that is very cool. There’s not a song that you won’t enjoy on FOOTPRINTS IN PARADISE. You are welcome to pick up the entire album as a soundtrack for your jazz collection, or download individual tunes at Larry’s Jazz is our kinda jazz!
