Album Notes
Growing up in Birmingham, Al with a well-rounded mixture of Southern Rock, Blues, Gospel and Country music, this 24 year-old singer songwriter is paying proper homage to his roots. Now based just north of Boston, he is quickly gaining momentum and support with the release of his first EP, "One Foot Forward." Recorded and produced by Red Couch Productions in Nashville, TN, his debut EP is full of honest lyrics and soulful melodies. If names like Amos Lee, Gavin Degraw, Matthew Perryman Jones and David Gray excite you, you will surely appreciate the music of Matt Scott.

"What I hope to have captured in these songs is this: There is a deep joy in living life together. It is a gift. Everyday...every moment...every experience we are able to share with one another is a true gift from God. I believe that in the depths of my soul."

Whether it be a search for freedom, crawling into the trenches of suffering with fellow man, or celebrating love and joy, these songs possess an authenticity that resonates well with the listener. There is a depth of substance to these lyrics that keep you coming back again and again.

When asked about these songs, he says that "life is most rich and fullest when you have someone to share it with. Whether you are walking through a valley of darkness or raising a glass at a dear friend's wedding, shared experience is a gift and ought to be received in such a way. Maybe these songs will keep pointing me to that truth--I sure hope that they do. Because God knows that I strive to live everyday in this reality. And if they are able to point others to this truth
