Album Notes
where small clouds of fine luminescent dust drift away, splitting obscure cold waters, swaying to the sound of cavernous tones...
This is a submarine hidden chorus, an ode of sirens'voices singing ageless chants...
a rain of fragmented glittering particles brushing submerged walls, while golden refractions sleep buried in the fissures...
The dreams of shells is a meeting with a resonating radiant world of its own, a long dive in apnea scattered with amazements.
Oophoi plays synthesizer, electronics, flute (bamboo), percussion, performer (monochord, crystals), voice, singing bowls

Drone Ambient Soundpainting with Sea View
OOPHOI (Gianluigi Gasparetti) has a cult following among European and Russian lovers of ambient music.
This album consits of 3 long epic tracks devoted to real and legendary sea creatures.
It's hard to decribe the music and its effects on the listener but I'll try.

OOPHOI creates mainly drone ambient soundscapes. For the first minutes of listening it seems that you are listening to quite static farway drone ambient background sounds but wait a little bit... and you'll note that the music is developing, the author adds new sounds and sound effects as a painter who is slowly but consequently painting vast picture. And the music is starting working for the listener, it openes for you with each new minute of listening, your imagination is starting to work and paint its own pictures in 3 D.
It's strange - the music by OOPHOI is far from usual relaxing easy listening ambient style records but in the end his music is giving relaxing and refreshing effect to the listener.
Personal recommendation - listen to music by OOPHOI with headphones and you'll be impressed even more.
If you like this album - check out remixed versions of these tracks with Lisa Gerrard style vocals by Louisa John Krol on CD "I Hear the Water Dreaming" - and you'll be surprised.
