ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is my second Hawaiian Songs piano solo album.
With the “Pua Lilia” CD, I introduced a soft, “Slack Key Guitar” Feeling to the piano music, musically linking Frederic Chopin with Gabby Pahinui. This time, I approached more of the “Hula” repertoire, keeping a steady dance tempo.
If you want to know the words my piano is singing, you can go to the wonderful website huapala.org
Arigato gozaimasu to Mantarou Yamagishi-san, (Maya Soft Plan, Tokyo), for suggesting the making of this album.
Thanks to Yoshi Nishimura (Mozart House, Honolulu), I was able to record this collection of Hawaiian Love Songs on two exceptional pianos: A majestic nine foot Bosendorfer, made in Vienna, Austria and a lively six foot four Pleyet from Paris, France. You can challenge your piano ears and try to guess which one I’m playing!
