ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Seven Eves is my first "smooth jazz" album in several years. I had gotten tired of how the genre had become little more than over-produced drivel played by great musicians who weren't really allowed to stretch out or play real jazz anymore.

My last four albums were all stripped down, jazz-rock in strict quartet or trio formats, with no overdubbing, studio nonsense, strings, backup singers, or phony horn sections added on later. After doing those, I decided to try taking the same approach with a smoother type of material. This album is the result.

The tunes include a combination of new material and songs I had previously recorded but redid with new arrangements here. All the compositions are mine except for the classic "On Green Dolphin Street".

My goal was to produce smooth jazz that is really jazz. I hope you like it.
