Album Notes
Saludos Compay is a Latin music trio based in the Triangle area of North Carolina, collaborating with other fine regional musicians. Entumido is their debut album, containing many original tunes as well as some traditional songs adapted to their own unique style. The songs are meant for listening or dancing, whichever way people like to enjoy music, and include elements of cumbia, salsa, merengue, rumba and more, as well as jazz voicings. The music arises out of afro-cuban influences, but is informed by music from all over the Carribean and South America.

Lead vocals are performed by guitarist/songwriter Pablo Valencia, who penned the original tunes. He is backed on vocals by conguero Chuck Nolan and keyboardist Erich Lieth. The trio's sound is enriched with smooth jazz saxophone highlights provided by Lisa Lindsay and trumpet solos by Alex Weiss. Additional percussion is by Robert Cantrell. Together the sound is full, and fulfilling.
