Album Notes
The Silent Wire has a fundamental belief that performing live original music is the gateway to connecting with people who enjoy music. Their sound is a blend of pure American rock n roll, blues, jam band, alternative and southern style music. The name, although somewhat arbitrary, is an accumulation of their love of vinyl records, tube amplifiers, electronics and "guitar tones floatin' on the air."

The Silent Wire is Jason D. Russell (drums), Devin Tomko (bass), Mac Skeefer (vocals & guitars) and Adam Vasko (vocals & guitars) - all natives of the Pittsburgh area. Skeefer met Vasko in middle school. A friendship quickly developed, and they starting playing music together. Both are songwriters and singers with their own distinct individual style. Skeefer was the first to meet and play with Russell, a true rock drummer, in the spring of 2000. In the early part of the turn of the century, Skeefer, Vasko and Russell were playing together in a band that eventually disbanded. In late 2008, Skeefer and Russell were together again in a new band, and soon Vasko was sitting in. A need arose for a replacement bass player and Tomko stepped in. That group disbanded in early January 2009, but Skeefer, Russell, Tomko and Vasko wanted to carry on as a new band, so they immediately started The Silent Wire.
