WINNER for BEST SONG, "Nobody's Fault But Mine The P.T.S.D. Blues" (BMI) is a story told by a soldier that is suffering from P.T.S.D., who blames himself for his ailments. The soldier is a character in the new multiple award winning movie "Still the Drums". The song plays right before the story's climax scene. The producers of the movie, American Patriot Pictures, LLC will donate to Veteran's Charities from the song and the DVD proceeds. "Still the Drums" swept the 2009 New York International Independent Film & Video Festival winning the top five awards for Best Film, Best Feature Film Directorial Debut, Best Actor, Best Screenplay and Best Song. The movie also received the Platinum Reel for standout filmmaking from the 2009 Nevada Film Festival. Musically "Nobody's Fault But Mine The P.T.S.D. Blues" is a remake of an old gospel tune composed by Blind Willie Johnson back in 1928. (BMI). The arrangements were done by award winning, jazz, bassist, Jim Hughart and lead guitarist, John Chiodini. Two great musicians. Jim Hughart is a 3 time MVP and Emeritus recipient from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Science (NARAS ) and he has played with just about every major vocalist in the last 50 years. He's played with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole Barbara Streisand, Celine Deon etc., etc., etc. Jim still tours with Tony Bennett today. John Chiodini has very similar credits to Jim's and also tours with Tony Bennett. Talbot Perry Simons wrote the lyrics, performed the vocals and did the harmonica playing on the song. Talbot is the executive producer, producer, writer, director, lead actor and editor of the motion picture "Still the Drums". With the five awards he received for the movie he surpassed Charlie Chaplin's 58 year world record as being the first filmmaker ever to win awards in five separate filmmaking categories for one motion picture.
The songs publisher is Alpha Music Inc.
American Patriot Pictures, LLC will distribute the movie DVD from the movie website http://www.stillthedrums.com also offering donations from the proceeds of the movie to Veteran's Charities. It will be available later this summer on all of the major online retail movie sites like Amazon, Netflix, etc., etc.
This is Talbot's first published song.
