Album Notes
I'm pleased to announce the release of my latest music CD. It is called "Strings of Praise" due to the fact that I play a collection of stringed instruments on a dozen of today's most popular Christian Contemporary praise songs. It's all instrumental with me playing EVERYTHING on all the tracks (Guitars, Bass, Drums, Violins, Mandolin and guitar synthesizer for background keyboards, choral voices, horns, strings, etc...)

If you like George Benson, Earl Klugh, Larry Carlton and Chet Atkins; you will enjoy this CD.

I have played the guitar since I was 9 years old. At age 14 I began appearing regularly on local live Radio and TV shows on the affiliates of CBS (KOIN) and ABC (KATU) as a guest soloist all during high school. During college I appeared locally on stage as the lead guitarist in traveling shows with Glen Campbell, Buck Owens, Sherri Lewis, Burl Ives, and other shows including the Ice Capades orchestra, Rose Festival Concert orchestra and others. I also was hired at times as a studio musician to record music for TV and radio commercials.
The summer I graduated from PSU I appeared with Della Reese for two weeks at the grand opening of the GreenWood Inn. I also had a full load of guitar and banjo students and I worked full time at Portland Music Company for several years.
In the late 70’s I used my education and transitioned into the “hi-tech” marketing jobs, climbing the corporate ladder at companies like Tektronix, Hewlett-Packard and others -- leaving my music behind. After 18 years of that I went into business for myself, running an ad agency for 9 years and then getting my real estate license in 1999. The nice thing about our work in real estate is the ability to make our own decisions as to how to spend our time. I have been fortunate enough to be able to make a good living in real estate with time left over to again pursue my love for music. For the last 7 years I have been studying the violin with Hugh Ewart, the retired CONCERTMASTER of the Oregon Symphony.
My in home recording studio includes a 32 track digital recording platform, a digital drum machine and a guitar synthesizer that allows me to create almost any instrument or voice sound with a special guitar plugged into it that drives the synthesizer. I play, record and teach ALL styles of guitar (acoustic, electric and classical), mandolin, violin, bass and 5-string banjo.
My dream is to get some record producer somehwere to "discover" me and help me launch a recording career like George Benson, Earl Klugh and Larry Carlton have enjoyed..... as there are not that many good instrumental guitarists producing albums these days with "listenable music" for "adults".

Strings of Praise
I like the variety of instruments used and the way they're mixed. This is a great CD for listening at home, in the car, or as background music anywhere. It makes a great gift, too. My 1-year-old granddaughter started dancing to it right away. Very well done!

Strings of Praise
A wonderful CD filled with musical brilliance, and joy. This heartfelt collection of songs are wonderfully arranged and played by Tim Mackey, this extraordinary artist. More amazing is the fact that Tim plays every instrument on the collection, and has produced it as well.

This very pleasant CD is uplifting and inspirational in many ways; from the subject matter to the precision and soul poured out through TIm's heart- to his fingertips to bring such joyful music.

My enitre family is enjoying it, you will too!

Strings of Praise
Super CD! A joy to listen to. Superb instrumentation and arrangements. No other artist offers such a well done instrumental album of todays most popular contemporary Christian praise songs. A great tool for introducing non-Christians to current popular Christian music as it is "non-threatening" instrumental versions without the religious lyrics. Churches could use this as prelude and postlude music during services too. Get this CD - you will love it!!!

Tim's new album
Very pleasant to listen to. Incredible crisp and clear instruments; no one would imagine this comes from a home studio. Suitable for a quiet afternoon, but also great at higher volume when it reveals some deeper sounds. And I am proud to add that Tim is my classical guitar teacher.

Worship Pastor
Very smooth and gentle presentation of a great blend of instruments. Tempo is very soothing and sets a wonderful mood of worship without words to distract or compromise the feel of the music. Very well done.

Just wonderful...
After listening to the previews, this is a CD I defnitely have to get. I have the privilege of owning several other CD's from Tim, and each one is better than the last. I don't know most of the songs on this CD, but the music is just ... wonderful. I can listen to this for a long time.

Strings of Praise
Another wonderful work from the extraordinary artist, Tim Mackey. Tim's work evokes a wide range of emotions through the clarity and depth of his playing. Each note rings crisp and true; the work of love, and that shows in this Album.

Amazingly, the artist played the entire album- every instrument. I believe that is a rarity these days. Tim is a journeyman and is up to the task. The melodies and counter melodies are simply mesmerizing.

This collection of music is uplifting in so many ways. It is evocative- I has some "goose bump" moments from it. You will really truly enjoy it, and with the Holidays coming up it will be played a great deal at our home!
