Religious songs from the Philippines the album was a concept by the late Manuel P. Villar Sr., the father of Philippine Recording. The Cd includes the hit songs “Mahiwaga” , “D’yos lamang ang nakakaalam”, “Ama Namin” , “Silayan’ and others.
Mostly these music are being sang in the Catholic Churches in the Philippines and different congregations as well.
The Cd includes the talented Cely Butista who is well honored in the roster of contemporary ‘kundiman” singers. Listen to her now on another of her already many albums of kundiman collections and how she interprets the musical artistry in the compositions of Leopoldo Silos , Ador Torres, Manuel P. Villar Sr. and such company of Filipino music-makers.
The Mabuhay Singers…truly the most popular and most versatile, if not the greatest, sing-along group ever assembled here to perpetuate the sound of religious music for all the Filipino people and their friendly neighbors to hear.
Kayumanggi Trio – a distinguished group of voices highlights these special collection of religious themes.
