ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Aaron's gift as a tunesmith pairs beautifully with their craft as a performer, defining and articulating an entire world of feelings with never a note misplaced. The piano shines on this album, commanding respect in Marcus's contemplative solo work and powerful ensemble performances alike...by turns playful and grave, exuberant and insightful. I haven't stopped listening to the album since my review copy arrived."
--Hollis Easter

Far and away my favorite
So glad to see that others are discovering this treasure of a CD from Aaron' Marcus and company. There is literary as well as musical and compositional originality here, with influences spanning from the natural world to traditional music from Sweden, Scotland and England. Aaron's classical training, sensibility and skill combine in turn with rhythms reminiscent of jazz, and a sonically old-school recording brings the piano at its grandest to the ear.
