Starling is a collection of songs that capture the dark humor of everyday life. It blends several styles, including early 20s jazz, dream pop, and country twang. It is a collaboration between Waterworth and Springfield, Missouri producer and songwriter, Nick Sibley. These songs come from Sibley's repertoire of original songs. Waterworth and Sibley co-wrote "Martha" and "Don't Call Me Baby."

Waterworth adds her unique vocal style to these intriguing songs. Starling is the epitome of Waterworth's artistry and skill at blending the past and present to create modern, esthetic, and innovative music.
