Elektrodelica caused a huge uproar when it was first released in 1998. Loved by many and loathed by some, it set out to destroy the definition of electronic music genres.

From the stylings of Doubt to the Beatlesque mood of Heaven60, this has got to be the definitive Anything Box album. If you enjoyed The Universe is Expanding, this is the precursor, the collection that started it all.

When asked what is his favorite album by Abox, Claude S. usually responds with, "Elektrodelica of course, for showing me the way..."

Elektrodelica Review
Elektrodelica is definitely the definitive Anything Box album. It is the "Sergeant Pepper" album of their impressive collective. If you were expecting another virtue titled release to follow previous albums "Peace", "Worth", and "Hope"; then Over a decade after first hearing it, Elektrodelica still sounds very much ahead of its time. The musings are perfect. The lyrics are brilliant. Going in to the studio; the band set no limits for the album..."Anything Goes" was the ethos for Claude, Paul, and company.... And indeed anything went... The end result??? Pure Bliss. You don't have to listen all that closely to hear the Kraftwerk and Beatles influence; or perhaps the punk influence of "45"... This is not however a carbon copy or a cheap imitation from music's past... It is very much that of the future. Elektrodelica jumps out at you from many impressive angles but somehow tie together perfectly. It is done in a way that only Anything box can deliver. The ABOX way!!

One often cannot put into words properly when describing the greatness of something truly great. Sometimes when I hear an album, I immediately pick and choose the songs I like and dislike. Elektrodelica had me anxious because I had heard that Anything Box's sound was taking a new direction. I kept thinking, "what if i hate it?". From the opening robotic singing voice to ending with the beautiful haunting piano piece I was mesmerized. I was transported to another dimension where a beautiful sonic landscape was laid out in front of me and all I could hear was layered heavenly music surrounding Claude's incredibly melodic singing. Even the rocked out "45" sent shivers down my spine as I listened in absolute amazement. This album became the soundtrack to my life as I was going through a very difficult break up, in which "Dirt" became my anthem. The brightest point of the album for me personally is the perfect "Heaven60". This is one of those albums that is timeless and an absolute classic. The album has recently enjoyed the 10th anniversary since its release...I will still be listening intently to this album in another 10 years and another 10 years and so on...This album belongs in everyone's music library.

the birth of electronica! lol
I recently purchased this album for the second time. and i must say it has only gotten better with age. i have the original two disc special edition from its original release. if you can find the second disc somewhere i suggest get it.
also the hidden tracks are the best on this one.
one more thing if you like the beatles you'll have no problem enjoying this album.
