Album Notes
The Cocobola Club was formed Alex Causey, Rich Leon and
Mike Urso in November of 2005 from a Jam session on a Sunday
afternoon. The members of the Cocobola Club all have many years of musical experience in writing, recording and performing. Their influences range from D'jango Reinhardt, Crosby-Stills & Nash, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Hollies, Stones, Bach,Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Etc.
Cocobola: N :- The hard durable wood of any of several
tropical trees of the "Genus Dalbergia"of the legume family
used in the extensively in the production fine guitars. The
wood is found in Brazil where the mountain Indians say if
you "Stare into the grain of rosewood long enough,
you will see visions of the future".
The Album was recorded live in a Studio in Cerritos,CA by Rec. Eng. Joey Mendoza. "Who was a lot of fun to work with". We recorded one song at Mr. 'B'S Studio in Downey CA.
The music starts off with A. Causey singing and playing rhythm guitar,R. Leon playing lead guitar on the first song. Then R. Leon sings the next song while playing rhythm guitar,A. Causey plays lead on that song. We continue to switch. M.Urso plays the base on all the songs. M. Urso does harmony, Lina Hayek does harmony,Patrick Capili on drums. A special thanks to all who helped on this project!
On the cover of the album is a picture of a 1930 V-16 Cadillac and is the car we ride around in from time to time. If we ever receive a "Grammy" for one of our songs and the award show is in Hollywood, we will show up riding in the V-16. All the Lyrics & Music have been written or co-written,produced and published by A. Causey,R. Leon & M. Urso. These songs have been registered with the Library of Congress at the Copyright office.

This is the best new band out that I've heard this year!
This is a great CD. I've tried to decide which of the songs I like the best but it's been real difficult to decide. I am leaning to Track #2, "Was She Sent For Me." There's a great message in that song. Over all, the quality of the recording is great with a good mix. The vocals and instrumentaion is real tight. This tells me these guys have been working real hard to make this. Lot's of talent here and I can only expect this to be a big seller for being independent. Looking forward to the next CD these guys make. I highly recomend people buy this and look for more from this band.

An excellent first album effort. The recording is clean and creatively engineered. The music is fun and interesting to listen to. These are a very talented group of musicians, as anyone who listens will agree. The standout track "Was She Sent For Me" is reason enough to purchase this CD. A well deserved 5 star rating.
