Album Notes
What to say?! So much TO say! I was mentored by my hero, the legendary flamenco guitarist Manitas de Plata. It has been a long slog to get to where I am now (where ever that may be) and here's a little bit about me. In 2008 I was working a in a convenience store. This helped fund my recording sessions, buying guitar strings, travel to gigs etc, when one day a local lady walked into the shop. She handed me a piece of paper and in it was written "Manitas de Plata". She told me that I would never forget the first time I heard him play. She was right. My life had been opened to a new way of playing. A new way of expression. His techniques!!! WOW!!! His passion, unrivaled. He was the man!!! My life had a new purpose to it, practicing for hours everyday, 4 hours minimum. After getting several professional contracts performing in bars and small venues, I was starting to develop fast. I had been playing flamenco for years, but nothing like this.

The defining moment came in 2012. I had to find my mentor. He was the rock star of flamenco guitar. Picasso called him a genius in 1964. He toured for 35 years, selling 93 million albums. His music changed my life and I had to say "Thank you". What I got, though, was a lot lot more...

He took me in, mentored me, changed my techniques, showed me new ways to express my self, changed my philosophy of music, showed me how to improve, what to practice. It was unreal. Still, to this day, I feel like it was a dream.

My album, Passion, Thunder and Beauty, is all of my knowledge, passion and love for flamenco and musical liberation that comes from when my fingers touch those six strings. These are my stories so far...
