Album Notes
Afaar is soon to be known as the MC who put Oceanside, California on the hip hop map. At the turn of the century Afaar turned his love of hip hop music into artistic expression. While in high school, he began writing rhymes in class and freestyling at lunchtime like so many hip hop legends before him. In 2003 he independently put out his first album “No More Top Ramen.” In 2005 he followed up with a spoken word / hip hop hybrid album “The Architect.” In 2007 Afaar signed to End of Earth Records and put out his third album “Write to Live.” At this time Afaar began regularly performing in the southern Cali hip hop scene; opening up for acts such as LMNO, Supernatural, The Visionaries, Red Cloud, LA Symphony, Braille, Mr J Medeiros, Ahmad & 4th Ave Jones, Propaganda, Sareem Poems, Sojourn and many others. If it is possible for an artist to achieve their magnum opus so early in a career, then Afaar may have done just that with Art of Word. With top notch production, innovative rhyme patterns, heartfelt, socially conscious lyrics, and a more than solid line up of guest appearances; Afaar has delivered nothing less than a hip hop classic.
