Album Notes
In 2009, when my daughter was a baby she cried for what seemed to be all night long, every night, for two years. I discovered the one thing, even more than nursing, that calmed her, and kept my sanity, was singing. Then, in 2010, when my son was five years old, I became adamant that he begin music lessons. After a few lessons he said, "Mom! I don't want music, YOU want music!" I said, "Wow. You're right. I do." After an award-winning public radio career of turning the microphone on mothers nationwide to capture their intimately personal experiences about pregnancy, birth, and motherhood, I realized, in that moment, something was fundamentally missing from my work, something that came to me in the wee hours of night. For the first time, I was moved to turn the microphone toward my own journey. Since then, I have worked intensively with David Rosenfeld to hone my voice. In doing so, a wellspring of 10 original songs have emerged. In June 2013, I ran a successful Kickstarter Campaign and raised over $15,000 to co-produce, with David, my debut studio album, DELVE.

"Your songs and lyrics are beautiful.”
- Elizabeth Lesser, Founder of The Omega Institute and NYTimes bestselling author of Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow

"Your songs are deeply personal, and your performances have a fine quality of communicating, as if it were one-on-one. I noticed that you change your voice quality for each song, in a most appealing way."
- Elizabeth Lauer, critically acclaimed composer who worked with Columbia Records in the years of Clive Davis

"Your voice is heavenly and the lyrics are uplifting.”
- Amir Bar-Lev, Sundance-winning filmmaker

"I love your songs! They are deep, wise, heartfelt, and your voice is really so moving.”
- Jennifer Bleyer, journalist

"You sing soulfully and heartfelt."
- Andy Issacson, journalist

"Ahri Golden has the potential to be the Ani Difranco for women in their late 30's and early 40's who are balancing work in the world, family, and inner growth. Her realness, rawness, and brutally courageous honesty is a gift and inspiration to those of us moving along this challenging path."
- Rachael Knight, Namati: Innovations in Legal Empowerment

"Listening to your songs just fills me with so much courage to be able to sing my heart out in the same way."
- Sara Landas, filmmaker, The Goddess Project

"Ahri just blew me away with her amazing voice and meaningful lyrics."
- Alon Shalev, award-winning novelist

"You have a beautiful voice. Wow. I cannot wait to hear the rest of the album."
- Chantal Pierrat, Founder of Emerging Women

"What a gifted performer! Impressionist, song writer, singer. I was touched. Bravo."
- Eva B. Konigsberg, EA, MBA

"This is such a stunning song. I love the words and the message just blows my mind. I envisioned you at a venue, singing to an audience of fans and just blessing people with your presence and wisdom. It's really powerful, truly so, so powerful. I am amazed. Thank you for sharing these with me, and for sharing yourself with the world. You are such a light and such a healer.”
- Tania Ketenjian, Editor-in-Chief, The [Un]Observed, A Radio Magazine
