Album Notes
Ailís Ní Ríain is an internationally prize-winning Irish contemporary classical composer and published writer for stage who aims to produce work that challenges, provokes and engages. A regular collaborator with artists in other art-forms, her artistic interests are diverse and combined with an unwavering desire to push and develop her artistic practice through each new project or commission.

Linger is a Brontë concept album, a 14-track work comprising the six room compositions and other original work featuring performances by leading new music improvisers Seth Bennett, Sylvia Hinz and Kelly Jayne Jones. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brontë provides the inspiration for an additional four soundscape pieces, a song performed by Bradford-born singer-songwriter Tasmin Archer and an extended meditative electroacoustic track including piano and percussion.

Linger is also a musical installation by Irish contemporary classical composer Ailís Ní Ríain, comprising six new pieces written and performed on the Brontë family piano. Each work reflects the essence of a different room, composed in response to time spent by the artist at the Parsonage. Linger runs from 10th October 2015 to 4th January 2016.
