ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
"Love Did Last" is a 2 song A sides/B sides single that Aiyana recorded in the fall of 2014 with producer Rob Harkness at Barn Productions in Los Angeles. It is her second recording project with Harkness and the recording process was super smooth, efficient, creative and fun!

The title track, "Love Did Last", features the piano and Aiyana's vocals as well as beautiful strings to emphasize the emotional content. The rhythm and groove is driven by the piano, bass and drums to keep you rockin' out an drawn into the song. The lyrics of this track recalls moments in a love that was once shiny and new and how we sometimes just want to "go back to days of bliss, our love was so divine". But then realizing that life is ever changing "the season came to pass, for a moment love did last". The bridge of "Love Did Last" has a great driving rhythm that is possibly the catchiest part of the song, along with the initial piano intro and licks between verses. Lyrics like "You had my heart but it wandered it, now I'm sure that I want it to stay" states truths about the heart being fickle sometimes and how one can sometimes end up with clarity about a love gone wrong in hindsight.

The Second track, or B sides "Ain't No Stoppin' " is a super fun and catchy tune, great for driving with the windows down in sunny California or any beautiful place on a beautiful day. The piano is solid any rhythmic and is complemented by Aiyana's sultry yet playful vocals. The guitar added some great grooves and funk feel to this track that'll get you boppin' your head along to this song. The rhythm section holds it down and really makes you want to keep this song a repeat a few times because you just want more. Lyrics like "I don't need you everyday, no no baby, I just need you in the night...To do everything you do and you do it baby, oh yeah you do it oh so right" gives you a sense of victory, freedom and empowerment in romance. "Ain't No Stoppin'" plays with the idea od should I do it, or shouldn't I? Should I be good, or should I have fun. The bridge of this tune departs from the groove of the rest of the song and contemplates "And I wonder if this is all I need from you? Am I hiding out, am I just evading the truth".

There is depth and personal experience in Aiyana's lyrics which are relatable, honest, and passionate. The tunes groove and are catchy, poppy, but colorful and rich too. These songs are really a great pair of tunes that really will leave you wanting more new music from this artist!
