THE MUSIC OF NEW AGE VOCALIST AKASA IS EMPOWERING AND TRANSFORMATIVE
AKASA is new age singer whose vocalizations are ethereal, mystical and enchanting. Her music explores the depth of the individual psyche and the breadth of the cosmos. Her new CD, PORTAL, contains authentic emotional expressions and multicultural elements. There are sounds for healing, expanded consciousness and transformation. She says that the main message in her music is to encourage everyone to set their inner spirit free, discover their own unique gifts, and become a creative force making a better world.

The album includes guests such as Prince keyboardist Morris Hayes and violist Shenkar (Shakti, Frank Zappa, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Yoko Ono). Her voice, and occasionally the rhythms, give a slight world-music tinge to the music. She mostly sings sounds instead of words, but occasionally her vocals include English, Latin or Native American.

Akasa is a passionate, emotional, philosophical performer with many musical messages. You will probably be enthralled with her unique sound.

The RajMan Review
Akasa's latest album is indeed a gateway to other states of being, mental, emotional, and psychological dimensions that transcend the conventional and the mundane.

This enchanting chanteuse's voice is ethereal and otherworldly, a mystery and an enigma, haunting yet inviting and reassuring. It is definitely a unique experience.

Complementing Akasa's vocal intrigue is appropriately eclectic instrumentation and vocals by accomplished musicians including Morris Hayes, Nick Michaels, Aaron Michael Stern, Andre Miuex, Shenkar, Bill Scott, Kip Blackshire, and Phil Curran.

As Akasa proves on this record, more often than not, taking the road less traveled and following the beat of a different drum can reap immeasurable rewards.
