Album Notes
Meet Alana.
Artist, musician, yogi, and meditation guru, Alana Cahoon is a creative force of nature whose healing voice brings peace to the world. She began her career in the arts in New York City where she resided for 10 years. She shared the stage with fellow musicians, actors and artists alike, spending afternoons writing ideas on napkins in cafés and evenings at music venues. She studied at HB studio in Greenwich Village and Loughborough University, UK, and received a degree in theatre at Brockport State University of New York. She wrote nearly 100 songs and was the lead singer for several bands as well as fronting her own bands.

Alana began meditating at the age of 14. She had been raised as a Roman Catholic and attended St Philip Neri school. While in New York City, she expanded her meditation practice with studies at the New York Open Center, learning about eastern philosophies and alternative medicines like Sufism, acupuncture, and the Whirling Dervish. Her most recent studies have been in Shamanic healing and Buddhism.

She is a certified natural health professional with concentration in nutrition, an Usui Tibetan Reiki Master with emphasis on intuitive energy balancing, and is a certified Hatha Yoga instructor focused on Vinyasa flow.

Producing a CD of meditations has been a dream of Alana’s. She has been creating these meditations for years, and introducing them to her students in classes and private sessions. ‘Letting Go’ is the first of the series.


Breath (4:50)
This is a short meditation for people on the go. Alana has worked in the corporate world and understands the intensities of managing a work schedule with its deadlines. She is also a mother and fully understands the complexities of parenthood. This meditation literally offers you the ‘time to take a breath’!

Letting Go (24:57)
Alana loves this meditation, and remembers leading it in one of her classes saying, “Students were dizzy and needed to sit and reflect on the transformations that took place.” The meditation begins with a deep relaxation process. Once you are in this place of peace, the inner work begins. Obstacles that have prevented you from experiencing true love, peace and prosperity are cleared away.

Layers of vocals in harmony and dissonance will awaken the inner core of your being, producing a profound effect of your body mind and spirit. This is a sample of a 25 minute track to be released in an upcoming CD.

Get ready to walk on the clouds, and feel the lightness of your being. Creative visualization techniques will take you along the journey through many doors, freeing yourself, letting go, and experiencing true freedom!
