Album Notes
Alan is a Canadian songwriter and producer with a custom-designed recording studio in Guelph, Ontario, Canada where he lives. He writes easy listening music, pop songs and instrumentals. He also produces recordings for singer/songwriters or duos who need high quality recordings of their own songs or other music for presenting to publishers and record companies or as backing tracks for their live performances.

In 2018, Alan released his seventh CD, "Piano+Strings". There are 14 tracks with almost an hour of easy listening music. There are nine original songs, his own arrangements of four classic tunes and a totally original version of a timeless nursery rhyme.

Here's what Alan says in the CD liner notes:

My last CD, “Endless Summer”, was released in late 2015. It was a collection of (mostly) acoustic and electric guitar songs written and recorded fairly quickly.

This album is very different. Over about two and a half years, I wrote and recorded songs with no plans for a new CD. During this period, Jane, our first grandchild, was born and I wrote “I Wish I Was The Moon Tonight” for her. When Beth, our second grandchild, arrived, I wrote her a song too - “Waiting For The Sun”.

Only after I’d finished mixing “Waiting For The Sun” did I realize how many new songs I’d finished -enough for a new CD! And when I listened to them all together for the first time, I was surprised to find they were all piano and string arrangements with very little guitar.
