Album Notes
This is the CD single release from the Alan Merrilll 2004 solo album "Aleecat".
The mixes on this single are slightly different than the the versions on the album. The 3 songs vary in style, from the raucous barrelhouse pub sing-along "Trisha Uptown", to the sexy mid tempo "Everytime She Comes Around", winding up with the cynical John Lennon-esque cynical ballad "Illusion".
Alan Merrill has been an international mainstay in rock music for years, and is best known for singing, writing and releasing the original Arrows version of "I love rock n roll" in 1975, a song later covered by Joan Jett, Britney Spears and many others.
If you aren't familiar with Alan Merrill's work, this is current, and a real good place to start.

A single like they used to make them
I remember the days when the bands would put out singles with two really good songs. You know, 45 rpm vinyl records.
This reminds me of those wonderful singles from the 1960s and 1970s that had melodies, a good beat, and singing that had individual distinctive flair.
This single is reminiscent for me of those good days, and it's refreshing to hear this style and these songs on a three song cd single.

Trisha Uptown
This Trisha Uptown is a song that if Rod Stewart had recorded it before he went all Sinatra on us he would have been at number one with it. Not to mention that the girl the song is about is a fine looking lass and all!

Jan Unland

A single you'll want to play over and over.
The songs on this three track single are all worthy of the charts. These are strong catchy songs. Well written, convincingly sung and played with plenty of energy by the band. It's like having 3 a -sides on one single.

Catchy songs !
Three catchy songs from Alan Merrill. I can't get the Trisha Uptown song out of my head. It's one of those that just stay with you. Trisha's a knockout model, and now she also has a knockout song to match her good looks.
The other two songs are also very strong and make a lasting impression. Quality stuff from this artist.
Give this single a chance, and you could get hooked on Alan Merrill's music in a big way.
