Album Notes
ALAN MORPHEW, the first EP from Modern Folk Rock singer / songwriter Alan Morphew features guitar, mandolin, and dobro player Keith Gattis (Dwight Yoakam, Gattis), keyboardist Edward Harris Roth, cellist John Krovoza (Dixie Chicks, Live), and others, and was mixed by James "Jimbo" Barton (Matchbox 20, Eric Clapton Unplugged, Rush). Each player compliments Morphew's flowing melodic style presented by his beautifully passionate vocal performances.

Alan Morphew is a Modern Folk Rock singer / songwriter from Los Angeles. After years of studying voice, he is an incredibly powerful vocalist, ranging from sweet falsettos to emotional power vocals. His songs are catchy and melodic with strong choruses and meaningful lyrics. Alan's music has been compared to artists such as Jeff Buckley, The Beatles, Rob Thomas, Cat Stevens.

Throughout his years in the music business, Alan has worked with some incredible artists. He sang on Neil Young's 2006 CD, "Living With War," played trumpet for TSOL, and engineered for many artists, including Tupac and Kiss. Alan has also recorded and toured in Germany.

Alan Morphew has received awards for his own music and songwriting from organizations including UniSong International Songwriting Competition, Kweevak Music Awards (Portland, OR), the Los Angeles Music Awards, and the All Access Music Awards (Los Angeles, CA).

Alan Morphew released his first solo album, a self-titled EP, in 2005, a second EP in early 2007, and is planning to release a full-length CD in late 2007. All albums are produced by Alan Morphew and mixed by James "Jimbo" Barton (Matchbox Twenty, Rush, Eric Clapton Unplugged).

In addition to recording, Alan is regularly touring the country, playing shows in Los Angeles, the Midwest, the East Coast and the South.

A great CD with awesome songs!
This is one of the best CD's I've heard all year! I love the vocals, and the songs are outstanding. This CD is definitely worth checking out. You won't be disappointed!

Just Wondering

Excellent vocals and songwriting. A top CD.
Obviously a pro, Alan's powerful and passionate vocals shake my spine. His songwriting is heartfelt and timeless. Some record company should jump on this talent.

Diverse and unique!
Morphew has years of experience playing and producing. His self-titled debut EP incorporates that expertise with classic rock influences. James Barton, who has worked with Clapton and Matchbox 20, mixed the CD. The disc features four fully produced tracks and one acoustic song. Alan is an expressive vocalist singing falsetto with power. Each song on this EP has something unique to offer. Rich, layered instrumentation blends well with Alan's varied singing styles and visual lyrics. Morphew's music is familiar – reminiscent of 70's rock yet fresh with modern production and original arrangements!
