REVIEW: Confused, impressed, overwhelmed!
These are the first impressions after listening to the album of singer-songwriter Aleah Long. First song opens as a Laurie Anderson clone, but after a few bars turns into a melodic poppy song. Next songs Aleah turns into a female Peter Gabriel with pop-like songs with African and South American percussion. (Not the typical Afro-American voice you would expect.) ...Excellent produced, never over the top and all in very good taste. Quality stuff that is perhaps not prog for all of you, but its enjoyable for all music lovers!

"EN FULL CIRCLE -- A Shamanic Journey" is not just beautiful music -- it is an experience that deepens with every listening.

The music is charged with an energy that facilitates a journey into your own inner realms, where visual memory and emotion intertwine. Aleah Long seems to access the Akashic record -- the universal core of memory -- in the same way that "Earth, Wind and Fire" did in the 1970's, inviting us all to dance in spirals, open to the journey and soar.

This music is new-age, khemetic trance/dance, born out of experiences with plant medicine/teachers from the Amazonian rainforest. It unfurls, taking you into deeper and deeper levels of communication -- it is sensual, it is transforming.

Consider this music positive medicine for Gaia - Planet Earth!

Aleah Long is a visionary singer-songwriter, performer and teacher who lives in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York State. The exploration of sound vibration as a healing force, breath, and recoverying one's original voice/power/soul has been a passion for many years. She has studied with teachers from different tradition, but firmly believes in gnosis -- the soul resonates with truth.

Aleah Long is an experienced session singer, vocal arranger, songwriter who appears on numerous jingles, promotions and commercial recordings.

Aleah has recorded with internatinoal Worldbeat-Afro-Pop artists who praise her keen ear for languages and nuance. Shirazi's "Okeeyiloo" CD (Rogsam Records) is a wonderful treat - a mix of worldbeat, pop, hi-life and jazz. The CD features Laud Addy's and Ben Afful's afro-pop vocal stylings, while Aleah's masterful layering of background vocals throughout the CD gives the music a modern r&b flavor.

Aleah has also recorded with Ghanaian Hi-Life legend, C.K. Mann.

En Full Circle
Loved it. Earthy, soulful, it takes you away!

Powerful and transformative
This CD is what many of us have been waiting for. It is etheric but earthy, grounded in the beats and rhythms that makes you want to dance. The music sends a transmission of the energy being described in the lyrics. I am changed by it. I play Aleah's CD when I feel burdened by the medicrocity of day to day survival. I am immediately uplifted and realigned with my higher self.
