"a Brazilian-American music collaboration reminiscent of a Quincy Jones concept album ... shaped around exciting new singer Alexandra Jackson performing in Portuguese, English and Spanish ... seamlessly weaving the audience thru a Brazilian - American music alchemy created from the homage to the great legacies of Pop, Bossa Nova, Samba, R&B, Soul, and Chicago Jazz"

The album introduces a bright new International artist performing with music legends: Miles Davis, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Al Jarreau, Rod Temperton, Oscar Castro- Neves, the 96-year old Samba icon Dona Ivone Lara, Ivan Lins, Carlinhos Brown, The Jobim Trio (Paulo Jobim, Paulinho Braga and Daniel Jobim), Siedah Garrett, Banda Black Rio, Larry Dunn, Al McKay, Hubert Laws, Robertinho Silva, Larry Williams, and Maestro Charles Floyd with The Bossa Nova Noites Orquestra.

Produced in Rio de Janeiro, Los Angeles, London, New York, Chicago and Atlanta over 3 years ... this project was recorded by Alexandra Jackson with 150 of the world’s top music professionals. These artists endeavored to meet the challenge to honor the great Brazil music legacy, offering a way forward by alchemizing the music with the influence of “Chicago Jazz, R&B and Soul”.

Led by Producers Robert Hebert and Larry Williams, and their colleagues: the late Rod Temperton, Ricardo Silveira, Arthur Maia, Max Viana and Chris Walker – this project was produced with an All-Star ensemble of musicians that included the Producers, Darryl Jones, Teo Lima, Armando Marcal, Marco Brito, Pretinho da Serrinha, Marcelo Martins, Jesse Sadoc, Paulo Calasans, Marcelo Mariano, Orquestra Atlantica, Darryl Tookes and Curtis King.

2017 marks the 100th anniversary of Samba.

And, we have just passed the 50th anniversary of when Bossa Nova was the world’s most popular music.

It was the moment in time to honor the great Brazilian music legacy. And, the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics was that proverbial “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity” for Brazil music and its synergy with American Jazz to be reintroduced to the world on the largest stage ever.

To place that in context, we refer to a quote often used by the late Bossa Nova co-founder: Oscar Castro-Neves (citing William Carlos Williams):

“All that remains of communities and civilizations ... All that remains of their worth and dignity ... Exists in the art they leave.”

And, in a note to Oscar Castro-Neves and Executive Producer Robert Hebert in 2012 ... the great IVAN LINS perhaps best described this project:

“... There are a lot of ideas, a lot of paths. Yes, we have to say: ‘Sorry, Lennon, the dream is not over ...’ What I can say is that everything is possible ...

My first suggestion is to put everyone to think (about) the music we are involved -- using 2 words: TOTAL MUSIC.

How you said ... not World Music, it’s a blend of Jazz, Brazil, ethnic, instrumental, sung, modern, gosh! ... all directed to a well-done modern music.

Just to think ..."
