ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
ALEX POP PROJECT - LET’S DANCE

From Melbourne to Moscow and Tokyo to Tbilisi, and all other directions around the world, people keep on dancing to distract themselves from political and social division. In an effort to continue filling the dancefloors, music producers Alexander Ross-Iver, John McLaughlin and Jud Mahoney have co-created Let’s Dance in their respective studios in Moscow, Tbilisi and Glasgow.

A largely instrumental electropop track, clocking in at 3:18, Let’s Dance makes no apologies in bypassing streaming-defined patterns on what today’s hit songs should sound like. With jackhammer beats, catchy hooks and a robotic chorus, it’s perfect for any phase of the night: either before, during or straight after official party hours.

The co-production follows Wanna Be Your Man, the 2015 track which featured legendary Bay City Rollers vocalist Les McKeown.

John McLaughlin is known for having worked with artists including Busted, Westlife, Shane McGowan, Echo & the Bunnymen, Lamont Dozier and Kim Wilde. Fellow Glaswegian Jud Mahoney wrote and produced songs performed by Calvin Harris, Usher, Dolly Parton and Michael Jackson.

Utilising the services of ASCAP, PPL, Soundexchange and Downtown Music Publishing’s CD Baby and Songtrust, Alex Pop Project continues to sustain independence in the music industry.
