Meeting the Devil in Myrtle Beach Outside Woody’s, Hwy 17

by Alice Osborn

Born in Washington, D.C. the winter after Watergate to a Masterpiece Theater-obsessed mother and Archie Bunker-obsessed father, Alice’s past educational and work experience is unusually varied, and it now feeds her work as a narrative and imagistic poet.

ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
My poem, "Meeting the Devil in Myrtle Beach outside Woody’s, Hwy " was first published in Referential Magazineand has been since nominated for a 2012 Best of the Net Award. Special thanks to Senator Jaiz (aka Eban Crawford) for making this single a reality. This poem is 98 percent true. I believe I did meet the devil in the summer of 1999 when I tried to enter Woody's--I saw the person I was going to meet leave and figured, "What the hell--since I'm already here, I'll see what's happening." Then I was immediately confronted by the Devil and the rest of the poem was created! Enjoy and you can find out more about my poetry and my poetry books on my site, www.AliceOsborn.com.
