ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Alice Rose

Hailing from blustery Copenhagen, Denmark, Alice Rose plays and sings some of the most beautiful and mesmerizing music this side of the Mississippi. Her one-woman performances, stunning vocals, her jugglers skill using samplers, viola, cello, violin, Casio keyboards, harmonicas, toys and beat boxes--all come together in a delicious concoction of electro-pop- equal parts trip-hop, jazz, pop, folk, electronica and dance.

Ms. Rose’s musical journey started at an early age with violin and voice lessons, church choirs, and heated sibling sing-offs whose winner would be exempt from weekly chores. But one day she found a discarded 4-track recorder with a jammed tape. With a screwdriver and a hammer she freed the tape and discovered a way to compose and record her own music. Soon after, she made her first homemade album, a collection of four-track songs, which she released on casette tape in 1999.

Since then, Alice has produced a great amount music both on her own and with a number of prominent electronic musicians – among others, Gabriel Ananda and Frank Martinik, she’s worked with Jazz musicians galore and done everything from gospel to techno. She has toured Europe and the US with her one-woman extravaganza, leaving a lasting impression and inspiration, and from this moment on, she is touring with a guest musician on board, the multi instrumentalist, Tom Ashforthon moog, guitar and drumpad. You are in for an exciting show!

Her new album--Mora with the Golden Gun-- is ready and she is eager to share the music with the world. The album has been released in Denmark and Benelux in the fall of 2007, and will be distributed to the rest of the world by August 2008. So enjoy and make sure to check her out!

Alice Rose is Mora with the Golden Gun

Alice Rose is back with an exciting new album––Mora with the Golden Gun.
13 new songs that light up Ms. Rose’s alter ego, Mora––part secret agent, part super femme––in a bigger than big screen role. This is Mora’s soundtrack––mysterious, aggressive, adventurous and fun.
Cinematic pop songs with a hard edge of electronica. Alice crafted the ‘Mora’ songs to complement her vibrant, electric live show, attempting to capture that dynamic in a studio recording. And she’s done it! Songs of obsession, love, loss, and pure bluster––all conjured up with Alice’s magnificent and malleable voice, sometimes whispering, sometimes screaming, and everything in between.
Unlike the collaborations on her previous album Tales of Sailing (2006), this time Ms. Rose has done it all on her own––writing, arranging, playing and recording. And in addition to her usual repertoire of viola, Casio keys, glockenspiel, toys and synths, she’s enhanced her wide-screen vision with guest musicians on talkbox, Moogs, and guitar.
Originally from Denmark, Alice Rose has spent the past seven years performing at festivals and clubs all over the globe, and is currently based in Cologne Germany where she is part of the lively electronic music scene.

RELEASE DATE: NL and Denmark: October 2007, W+R records
